This summer, the Lake of Bays Association installed a sign in the shoreline garden at Dwight Beach to recognize the Association’s contribution to the Dwight Beach Re-greening Project completed in 2012 in cooperation the Township of Lake of Bays. The project was undertaken by LOBA to demonstrate how indigenous trees and shrubs can be planted to reduce storm water run-off, provide shade and enhance the overall shoreline aesthetics. After four years of growth, the trees and garden are well established and providing interest on the shoreline through all seasons. Use this project for inspiration on your own shoreline. A plant list and photos of species planted at Dwight Beach is available here.
