2020 Municipal Budget

The Township of Lake of Bays Council approved the Municipal Budget at their December 17 Council meeting, with a levy increase of 2.9%, down from the initially proposed 5.95%. Savings were achieved in the Roads department based on recommendations that the re-surfacing of four township roads be changed.

The Township levy represents about 28% of your property tax bill. The Lake of Bays Association's Finance Committee analyzed 10 years of Township levy increases and concluded that historical levy increases were in excess of the rate of inflation. As reported previously the Association submitted this letter  outlining our concerns and the Township responded . After the Municipal budget was approved, we received this letter from the Township.

The Town of Huntsville will debate its budget on January 6 and the District of Muskoka budget deliberations will get underway later in January.
