Hi, Library Friend!

Hurray, it's June! Are the bugs driving you crazy? There are no bugs at the library...just saying! Of course, we hope you don't need an excuse to stop in. But we do have some terrific programmes planned.

This month we have a kids PA Day movie (tomorrow!), a kids Father's Day gift making activity, Tech Time about Instagram and Snapchat, a workshop all about Making Mead, a talk all about Podcasts especially for Seniors, and more!

And of course, we've got a whole bunch of new books, DVDs, and magazines for you. Hope you'll drop by and say hello soon. We look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,
Linda, Lizann, Deb & Dee

Friends Blanket/Afghan Raffle
This year's hand knit blanket throw is amazing, just as always! The "Canada 150" afghan is now on display at the library. It's a celebratory, queen size, handmade, washable wool blend. Many, many thanks to knitters Barb Bryer, Mary-Deane Crawford, Jean Crawley, Judy Geller, Caroline Konarzewski, Lorie Marsham, Janice Pearson, Shirley Prittie, Marg Sanderson, and Catherine Trudeau who put in approximate 350 total hours of work to bring this afghan to life. Wouldn't it look amazing at your place? Tickets are available at the library and throughout Baysville during special summer events. All proceeds go to the Baysville Friends of the Library. Draw will take place September 23 at 1:00pm in the Baysville branch library. Lottery license #M706907.

Friends Parliament Hill Flag Raffle
The Baysville Friends of the Library successfully obtained an East Tower Flag flown on Parliament Hill, Ottawa. This is quite an accomplishment as the approximate waiting period for an East or West Block flag can be up to 31 years. The flag was received in a commemorative display box complete with certificate of authenticity. The flag measures 4.5 feet by 9 feet. The Friends are thrilled and honoured to be selected to receive this flag, especially with the 150th anniversary of Confederation. The flag is being raffled by the Friends and the draw will be held Saturday, October 7 at 1:00pm at the Baysville branch library. Tickets are available at the library or watch for them at events around Baysville this summer. All monies raised will support children's programs, magazine subscriptions, book purchases, technology, furnishings and community outreach initiatives by the Baysville branch library. Lottery license M706907
