OMB Appeal Regarding Back Lots Update
You have all been following the back lot appeal for a long time. The OMB hearing is scheduled to begin this coming Tuesday, September 12 and will likely run for two or possibly more days. It will be held in Dwight at the Municipal Council chambers starting at 10:00am on Tuesday. While most of you are back at your homes and offices in other locales at this point, if you have an opportunity to attend and observe the proceedings you may wish to do so. LOBA's professional team and witnesses will do their very best to secure your well expressed interests in this matter, in hopes of best preserving the natural character and environmental amenities of the Lake of Bays.

Revised Development Application for Fairview Island
A revised development application for Fairview Island has been submitted to the Town of Huntsville, and the Planning Committee of the Council will hold a public meeting next week on Wednesday September 13, at 1:30pm. Click here to see the notice and updated materials submitted by the applicant.

Cottage Closing Food Drives
Both the Winter Pantry, serving Baysville and Dorset; and Hillside Oxtongue Lake Dwight (HOLD) are asking for donations to their Cottage Closing Food Drives. Non-perishable, unopened food and toiletries can be dropped off at:

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare
Planning for Our Future Generations
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is working through Stage 1 of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care capital planning process. They recently held public meetings to advise the public about its long term plan for hospitals in the area. The focus is planning for implementation in 2030 and beyond. They are now soliciting input from the public by asking permanent and seasonal residents to complete a survey about Hospital Care for Future Generations. Click here to express your views.
Town of Huntsville Official Plan Review
The Town of Huntsville is holding two Open Houses to present Draft Preliminary Policy Directions on:
Saturday September 9, 9:00-11:00am, Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment, and
Thursday September 28, 6:00-8:00pm, Port Sydney Community Hall.
