Water-Quality-Testing Volunteers Needed for the 2018 Season!
LOBA's water-quality sampling program is getting organized and ... we need some new recruits! The commitment is quite manageable this year with only three testing dates: Monday July 2, Monday August 6, and Friday August 31. The time required to sample each date varies with the number and location of sites assigned, but plan on 2 hours per sampling date. Training will be scheduled at a convenient time on June 30 or July 1.

IF you have a motorboat, time availability on those dates (sampling must be done between
8 and 10 a.m.) and are looking for a great reason to spend a couple of hours out on the lake on a lovely summer morning ... let us know!

Well Water Stewardship Survey
Queen's University, McMaster University, Dublin Institute of Technology and Public Health Ontario are collaborating on a project to  to understand knowledge regarding private well water use and stewardship, with the aim of developing a knowledge-based tool intended for use by private well owners, including cottage owners. The researchers would like to survey property owners with a well on their property.

The research group has asked LOBA to promote the survey to our members. It takes 10-12 minutes to complete and you can find it by clicking here.
