Please be advised that the LPAT Case Management Conference scheduled for Tuesday July 23, 2019 for the Langmaid's Island application has been cancelled until further notice.

With recent changes in the Planning Act, counsel (lawyers) involved in the hearing requested an adjournment until such time as the regulations that will affect this hearing have been adopted. This is expected by the end of August 2019.

It's a Wrap!
Thank you to the more than 140 members, guests, exhibitors and presenters who attended our AGM on July 6.
After the business of the meeting was conducted, we heard from four compelling speakers:

Geoff Ross, Vice Chair of the Muskoka Watershed Council (MWC) provided a "snapshot" of the health of our watershed, based on the Muskoka Watershed Report Card. You can read more about the Report Card here and read the most recent MWC Newsletter here .

Cathy Fairbairn, CEO and Librarian of the Lake of Bays Township libraries reminded us of the very many events and activities the Dwight and Baysville libraries bring to our communities and updated us on fundraising for the Dwight library expansion project. You can find out more about putting Yourself on a Shelf and SS Bigwin Fundraiser Cruises this coming Monday July 22, both in support of the Dwight expansion.

Director and chair of the LOBA Environment committee Caroline Konarzewski updated us on the many environmental activities the Association is currently undertaking. And finally Ian White, LOBA Director, updated us on possible increases in Hydro rates for seasonal residents. To read more about that click here .

Silent Boat Rally
Saturday August 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Silent Boat Rally is for kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Join us for a chance to paddle the beautiful winding Oxtongue river, explore small bays and meanders along the way. We will launch our crafts below Marsh's Falls and paddle down the Lower Oxtongue River to Lake of Bays and then return to the Falls. Participants will learn about the plants and animals that can be seen on the river. This is 8 kilometres of easy paddling in protected waters followed by a light lunch. This rally is a joint venture of the Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation and Lake of Bays Association. Cost $20 per person.

You can register online here or contact LBHF by email at registration@lakeofbaysheritage.ca
